ALS Caregiver Support Group: A Place of Understanding and Assistance
The Colorado and Wyoming Caregiver Only Support Group, scheduled for the first Thursday of every month, is a vital resource for those who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). In this supportive environment, caregivers gather to share experiences, exchange practical advice on coping mechanisms, and access resources specifically designed to aid in the challenging journey of caregiving. By connecting with others who understand the complexities and emotional demands of ALS caregiving, participants can find solace, encouragement, and the strength to continue their caregiving roles. Whether you’re new to caregiving or have been in this role for years, this group offers a compassionate community to help you navigate the ups and downs of your caregiving experience with enhanced resilience and hope.
ALS affects the entire family with changes that can be challenging, stressful and at times frightening. Talking about it sometimes helps, as does having useful information on what to expect. Support groups can be an essential tool in helping people with ALS and their caregivers, families, and friends live with this disease. Meetings are free and are designed to share information as well as strategies for caregivers.
An email reminder will be sent to support group members with the Zoom link and instructions on how to join within a week prior to each group. If you have questions or need the link, please contact the care coordinator.
