The Majeune Family Thanks ALS United Rocky Mountain for their Support

The Majeune Family Thanks ALS United Rocky Mountain for their Support after Paul was diagnosed with ALS.

Paul was diagnosed with ALS in May of 2022, and at the time of writing our appreciation for all that ALS United Rocky Mountain had done for the family, he was unable to walk and needed assistance in every aspect of living. Given that Paul had lost so much independence, the motorized chair that was loaned to him restored some of that and had been so good for his spirits and soul.

We want to give thanks and say how much we appreciate ALS United Rocky Mountain for their support and generosity in loaning Paul the special motorized wheelchair.

The motorized wheelchair made such an incredible difference in Paul’s quality of life!! Not only was it a crucial tool for maintaining different sitting positions key to his health — it was also a key to happiness. It allowed him to get outside to enjoy the sun, hear the birds, nod hello to people along the way, and see the world. It allowed him to move, and even move fast, something he has always loved, as he was formerly in the sports car sales business. Being able to use the joystick and drive himself had been uplifting. We want to share a picture with you, above, of Paul and his 94 ½-year-old mother, Joan, who enjoyed joining Paul for his outdoor excursions.

Paul’s sister, Michele, and her husband were able to make a gift to ALS United Rocky Mountain a few years ago. The care services staff are terrific, and their virtual support sessions and resources had been invaluable. We hope everyone who has a family member, coworker, or neighbor struck with ALS will remember ALS United Rocky Mountain when giving to the causes they support.

Thank you from Paul and family: Renee, Michele, Joan Majeune, and Renny Fagan.
