We’re So Close—But We Still Need You
Together, we’ve raised over $389,000, but our goal of $435,000 is within reach, and we can’t stop now. Every dollar fuels free services, life-changing equipment, and essential care for families living with ALS.

Walking Toward Hope
Each year, communities across Colorado and Utah come together to take powerful steps toward ending ALS. The 2025 Walk ALS season has been nothing short of inspiring. From Walk ALS Denver to Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, and Utah, we’ve seen thousands of passionate walkers, dedicated teams, and generous donors rally around a shared mission: to support families affected by ALS and advance the search for a cure.
As of October, ALS United Rocky Mountain is proud to report we’ve raised over $389,426 across all walk locations, an incredible testament to the commitment and heart of our community. But we’re not there yet. Our overall fundraising goal for the 2025 Walk ALS is $435,000, and we still need your help to get across the finish line.
We want to give a huge thanks to the Joel B. and Karen Q. Goldhirsh Family Trust for the generous donation of $100,000 to Walk ALS Denver, which helped us reach 33.33% of our goal in helping ALS families in our community.
Why We Walk
ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive and always fatal neurodegenerative disease that takes away a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe. Yet despite the devastation this disease brings, it cannot take away the spirit, resilience, and love within the ALS community.
At ALS United Rocky Mountain, we walk for those we’ve lost, for those currently fighting, and for the families, caregivers, and clinicians who support them every day. The Walks are more than just fundraisers; they’re a lifeline. Funds raised directly support free programs and services across Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming.

What Your Support Makes Possible
Thanks to donors, sponsors, and walkers like you, ALS United Rocky Mountain provides:
- Care consultations and personalized support planning
- Home visits and safety evaluations
- Medical equipment loans, including wheelchairs, lifts, and communication devices
- Support groups for individuals with ALS and their caregivers
- Quality of Life grants to ease financial burdens
- Access to ALS clinics and multidisciplinary care
- Educational resources, webinars, and in-person workshops
- Advocacy at both the state and federal level to protect ALS families
And perhaps just as importantly, we offer a community of hope and understanding for people navigating one of the most challenging diagnoses imaginable.
2025 Walk ALS Denver: A Day of Strength and Unity
This year’s Walk ALS Denver, held at Sloan’s Lake, brought together more than 1,500 participants and 90+ walk teams. With clear skies and contagious energy, the day was filled with joy, remembrance, and purpose. Families walked with signs, matching t-shirts, and emotional tributes to their loved ones. Children ran with signs, dogs donned team bandanas, and volunteers cheered from start to finish.
Thanks to your generosity, Walk ALS Denver raised over $279,000, more than any other walk in our region. A special thank you goes out to top teams like Team Larry, The Larvinators, Carol’s Crew, SpeEdy Red Rig, We’re here with a big Bo, and Papa’s Pacers for their incredible contributions.
CBS Colorado joined us at the Denver walk and featured our story on the evening news. In case you missed it, watch the uplifting coverage from CBS4 Denver here: Watch the CBS4 Feature
Walk ALS Fort Collins: Northern Colorado Comes Together
Held at City Park, Walk ALS Fort Collins was another incredible event filled with connection and impact. Participants gathered in memory of loved ones and in support of families still fighting. Over $44,000 was raised, bringing northern Colorado’s ALS community one step closer to expanded services and greater reach.
We extend our deepest thanks to our Fort Collins walkers, sponsors, and especially teams like Barbara Silkscapes, Vicki’s Team, and Team Deborah who went above and beyond to fundraise and support.
Walk ALS Utah: Utah’s Commitment
Held at Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City, Walk ALS Utah welcomed families from across the state to honor, support, and walk for loved ones impacted by ALS. Walk ALS Utah raised over $41,000 and continues to grow in visibility and strength thanks to passionate community leaders.
With Utah being a key part of our expanded service area, this walk is vital to sustaining services and reaching families in more rural areas of the state. Special recognition goes to Ken Garff Automotive – Fowles, Team Janeen, and Team Terry for their incredible advocacy and heart.
Walk ALS Colorado Springs: Walking with Purpose at America the Beautiful Park
Our southern Colorado walk took place in the beautiful setting of Colorado Springs and brought in over $25,000 in support. From military families to first-time walkers, the turnout was both humbling and powerful.
